Robotic Bronchoscopy

Robotic Bronchoscopy is a medical procedure that uses a bronchoscope to examine the lungs and airways. A bronchoscope is a thin, tube-like instrument with a light and camera at the end. During robotic bronchoscopy, a surgeon controls the bronchoscope using a joystick and computer screen. This allows for greater precision and control when examining the lungs.

About

Robotic Bronchoscopy

Robotic bronchoscopy has many benefits over traditional bronchoscopy. For example, it allows for a greater degree of accuracy and flexibility when examining the lungs. In addition, robotic bronchoscopy is less invasive than traditional bronchoscopy, which can lead to faster healing times.

Who is eligible for a
Robotic Bronchoscopy

In general, patients who are diagnosed with a lung nodule or mass that needs to be biopsied are eligible for robotic bronchoscopy. The type of lung cancer, as well as biomarkers, can be determined through a biopsy.

Robotic bronchoscopy is also used to obtain smaller tissue samples than traditional bronchoscopy. This may help to determine if the nodule is cancerous and the type of lung cancer.
